Step into a world of pure imagination with Willy Wonka Jr., a fun-filled musical based on Roald Dahl's beloved story *Charlie and the Chocolate Factory*. The show follows Charlie Bucket, a kind-hearted and determined child who dreams of visiting the mysterious Wonka Chocolate Factory. When Charlie discovers one of the five golden tickets hidden inside Wonka candy bars, he earns the chance to tour the factory alongside four other children. What starts as an exciting adventure quickly becomes a journey filled with surprises, challenges, and valuable life lessons.
Throughout the story, audiences meet unforgettable characters such as the eccentric and imaginative Willy Wonka, the generous Charlie Bucket, and the mischievous ticket winners Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, and Mike Teavee. Along the way, the cheerful Oompa-Loompas provide plenty of humor while reminding everyone about the consequences of selfishness, greed, and poor choices. At its heart, Willy Wonka Jr. is a story about kindness, honesty, perseverance, and the importance of being true to yourself. It reminds us that character matters more than fame, wealth, or popularity. McClure Theater Company
Our company is an extra curricular organization at McClure Middle School. We produce a musical each year, typically in February. Auditions and rehearsals begin in mid August. Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:30. Additionally, there are several Saturday rehearsals spread throughout the year. Our cast & crew are large, usually numbering between 75 & 100 students. Auditions are open to all McClure students. In addition to the annual musical, we might also have a smaller, dramatic production late in the school year.
